Completed the arms and torso and animated some hair. Ready to take this to the next phase. SO far it's still on 2's, not sure if I will inbetween or not, might instead try to paint in some shadows which is easier on 8 frames vs 16 :P

So now that I have a design (sort of..) I am going over with a cleaner pass. Really makes me realise I need to strengthen my drawing again to really pull this off properly, but...done is better than overworking stuff, so let's put in another hour on this :)

I have just copy pasted the face for now, I will add the hair movement/ tilts and slight sideways movement after I completed the rough pass. I also left out the armor on her torso to deal with afterwards.

New Design Runcycle

Too late in the game to re-design what I started with? Naaah....It's hard to find reference for this particular outfit, but it's from the chase sequence in the original Ghost in the Shell movie. I like the colors for this one.

I actually skipped a step.... the most important one :/ I normally do a gesture roug, not caring about being on model, just being loose and almost straight ahead. Here's a very faulted first few rough keys, time for the troubleshooting to start :)


I could change my mind on the design for all eternity, but just have to stick to something :P
tried finding a blend between the original anime film by Oshii and the original manga design.

Run Key Design

One of those sessions that makes you realise you can't draw, but oh well. Want to get into this quickly before I get bored of the idea.

Running Research

In preperation for the runcycle, I did a few studies of some runs on youtube.
I always used to draw characters running in jumping poses, too high off the grind, too large a stride. Runners really conserve their energy a lot more, the more bounce there is on the landing, the more slowdown and pushback you'd get. Hopefully this will work it's way into a decent runcycle :P
