When I worked on Randy we used a rig...Hey artninja! When I worked on Randy we used a rig in flash, but we would also do handdrawn elements, like hands, expressions, or inbetween movements. If you know Motorcity, they used a rig for the head and then drew the rest of the body frame by frame. I think it's a good technique (Look into Toonboom if you are interested in using a rig).
