As this is due today and since I'm not planning to work all night, this will have to do :)
Yeah, I'm far from happy with it, it's one of those sketches that when you look at it the next day, you go..euhm..what..the..euh..there's no time to do anything else, so let's make the best of it :D

Something I'm doing for another art challenge, it's christmas so I'm going to leave it until tomorrow so I can start with a fresh head :D

Final Fantasy VII Cloud & Barrett Illustration

This is the final illustration for an art challenge,
I totally went too far with this as it was just sposed to be a quickie.
But what can I say, I have lots of love for the characters of FF VII,
and I'm not the only one out there who does :D

Here are the inks. They don't really work on their own, they needed the color to clearify the image.

Since I don't want to be unfair to my opponent, I did a version with just Cloud and Barrett. It's up to him which piece he wants to go against.

..kinda there. I dunno if it's down to me that I can't draw straight lines with my waccom, or maybe it's the rubbish 6 year old tablet. But anyway, here's kind of the ink layout done, I still have to draw in a character in the front to balance the image out a bit and then off to colors.

EDIT 14/10 Don't know why but I felt like touching up this old poster I did. I only messed around a bit with colourlayers, contrast and added a texture to replace the white background.

These are some of the my favourite characters when I was a kid.
You might recognize them from classic anime: Fist of the North Star, Dr Slump, Bastard!, Ghost in the Shell, Astro Boy and Dragon Ball Z.

SoooOOoo..several reasons I didnt post anything for a while.
1) Stupid spammers were really pissing me off on this blog, I hope the new anti spam feature works on blogspot.
2) I moved to a new place! Yay! I'm right in the middle of Dublin now, in the nest of the scumbags.
3) I got a job! Yay, I'm working full-time now after I went totally bankrupt after 3 years of college, now I need to save up money to hopefully go back and finish what I started next year.

So with all that I didn't really lift a finger, but I was doing some small shit here and there.
Gotta keep drawing though! I think it's going to be easier to get motivated though now that I work.
Less time means more pressure means more drawing! Well, that's how I work anyway.

Anyway here are some sketches from the last few weeks:

For a sketchgroup, this is VISION from the avengers. I'm totally unfamiliar with this character so I probably messed him up bad, but I wanted to play around a bit before bed :)

Was away again for 2 something days, and when I got home I worked on pencils for a comic page of Tarzan that my friend TK roughed out. He's going to ink and color it, so good luck to him :)
I feel like doing more stuff, but I can never stop and then I end up working untill 3 or 5am which completely messes up your rythm for the next day, so I might be sensable and make it an early night.

Batman Beyond

So here's another image for a comic challenge, this time topic was Batman Beyond. I've been pretty busy busy lately and haven't really been home that much, but I'm trying to make the best use with the time I do sit in front of my PC.



Started off with 3 thumbnail sketches, trying to find a composition that works:

Inked , really trying to keep it kind of toony, which really isn't as easy as it looks! Not for me anyway :)

Posemaniacs

warm up 90 second poses using phtoshop. I've been saying I want to improve my digital sketching, because all professionals seem to be able to work straight into digital these days, so it's a must have skill. And there's only so long I can hide behind my crappy wacom tablet :D



And then afterwards some stuff from the creative mind, again starting digitally with a sketch, then on a new layer I just put some more shape in the drawing, and experimented on the sketch a bit for funz.







And now I'm gonna do something serious...well I'll try anyway :D
