This drawing is a result from a line on facebook:
Dave Dekeyser:For anybody who hasn't seen the Dark Night Rises, go to the cinema now! :)
Tim de Groot: go now? as in now? they are closed i'm afraid -_-
Dave Dekeyser: Doesn't matter, break in, punch the guard, tie him up and be sure to put a tape around his mouth so he doesn't scream. Wouldn't want him to spoil the movie for you! :D

Batman Sketch
I watched Dark Knight Rises today, so obviously I needed to draw the Batman, I think I might draw him again tomorrow in a more serious version. Today I felt like a semi toon Batman with Catwoman. I included the step by step for interested parties :)
What did I think of the movie? Awesome! Just as good or even better then The dark Knight, but I've gotta watch both again to make up my mind about that. Christopher Nolan, you are a legend!
I started with a rough sketch: Wanted to draw batman, catwoman and robin, but then changed my mind :P
I then did a new rough:
then the lineart (very rushed as you can see)
And finally the shading, and put on a "color" layer for colours that you can see o the final image:

Late Night sketch
I feel bad if I don't draw something in my sketchbook so drew this random cute character. I've been working on some backgrounds for a comic that I'm not allowed to share, so that's why I'm not filling up my blog as much these last couple of days :)

1 hour challenge #3
It's bad when you start your drawing day with a bad drawing, but here it is.
I don't like the line, the pose, the anatomy is a bit messed up, the design not really inspirational...but no worries! It's normal to have these days, let's continue and get better!

1 hour challenge number 2
This time my crazy friends on facebook came up with the following topic: "A samurai unicorn that wields a katana battling drunk man bear pig", now that was quite something to wrap my head around in 1 hour. So I didn't even get to colours this time :(
And then I coloured it afterwards for fun :)

1 hour challenge
So I asked people for a topic on facebook which I then would post a picture for 1 hour later. Crap or good, it doesn't matter, it would go up! It's quite challenging to come up with an idea, draw the pose, ink the drawing, and then throw on some colors! Must do this more often to improve my sense of design.

Phantom Cowboy : finished
So, finished up this commission, and reminded myself to stick with lineart for commissions. This was way too time consuming in comparison to the money I got form it :P Was a cool character to draw though!

Phantom Cowboy WIP + Step by Step
So I'm working on a character, a Phantom Cowboy. This is a work in progress, and I added the steps to see how I got where I am:
This is where I am at the moment, I'm not sure about the smoke..it might be a bit too much, but the character is supposed to be emerging from a hazy cloud of smoke:
I started by sketching out the rider and horse:
Then I filled in blacks just to see if the silhouette was working:
So now we are ready to start! I selected a medium grey and made the character a bit darker to start off with. Then I basically started "looking" for the character and carve him out almost as if I'd be working on a sculpture. You'll see I flip the canvas once and a while to get a fresh look on things.

Office Cartoon Sketches
Brainstorming today about characters for a cartoon related to office supplies. Fun but difficult to pintpoint anything down just drawing, I think this one needs to be thought out in words first!
The text is in bad Flemish (Dutch), don't even try to figure out what's written there :P

Phantom Cowboy Sketches
I was doing some sketches today in my sketchbook. I haven't really drawn a lot on paper lately but I enjoy it more then digital drawing. Just have to get used to looking more carefully at the symmetry when I draw.
I then took the drawings into photoshop for some simple shading:
This last one kinda blows, but hey..a sketch is a sketch :P
