So here's more figure work from imagination on my ipad, seems I've been getting really sloppy. I blame lack of sleep (summerlight wakes me up too early). But as they say you're only as good as your worst drawing! :P

More poses Practice
These are all from imagination on ipad
And these are looking at a person really briefly, and then drawing from memory (one of these is a pose I remembered from 2 weeks ago)

more homework
probably very boring, but keeping on doing memory sketches from Loomis and doodling figures from imagination. As they say, without the bad drawings there can't be improvement. Gotta work on the things we suck at :P

More homework
Drawn on my ipad, top page drawn at the end of day, the one below during break earlier.
Homework
Again self imposed homework, either copying from Loomis but most of these are drawn from memory and doing poses from imagination, all in biro done quickly rather than trying to get it right.

Loomis measurements
I always believe in checking things for yourself, not taking anything as a fact. So I wanted to see how accurate this Loomis mannikin is, and to be honest it's pretty spot on!
The biggest things to point out is the way Loomis simplifies the pelvis with those 45 degree angled discs, and he seems to exaggerate the way the upper leg bends in.
Another thing I was curious about is the relative size of the torso which is about 1,5 times the size of the head in lenght, unless you measure from the clavicle, in which case it measures just a bit over the lenght of a head. The pelvis is about 1 head in lenght with half a head in between the torso and pelvis.

Homework
Self imposed homework, either copying from Loomis or using the mannikin.
And some terrible figures with no reference.

Figure Practice
Technically I was just drawing figures, but it's always nice to put 'some' personality in them instead of these Dr Manhattan looking figures. The first one is pretty ok, the others pretty bad, but that's why I've decided to do a Loomis month! Meaning figure studies to improve my posing.
