In animation class we start off by animating balls to understand the principles.

3DS MAX: Lofting and basic materials
In today's class we created a banana using the Lofting method.
Basically creating a line as a path and extruding a shape along that path (in this case a GCON).
The cool thing about lofting is that you can manipulate the size of the shape along that path by going into the lofts' modifier options "deformations".


We then created a basic material for the banana skin by scanning in pieces of a banana and patching it up in Photoshop.

When applied it looks something as follows:


You can then place it in a scene for the full effect.

Visual Language class
