PETSQUAD: Some old boards

Digging through files to put some portfolio work together and stumbled on some old stuff I put together in my spare time. This was for a project idea of a zombie apocalypse from the perspective of pets.

I was still in the early days of boarding. Looking at it now, it's pretty bad but I like the ideas in it. So may go back to it and do it properly.  I posted these boards earlier, but never the videos, since the timing is quite bad in these. But I like to have a record of everything on my blog, good and bad :D

Swallowed Star Action Storyboard Sequence

So this was the first action sequence I had done for AXIS. The project link is here.

This was after working on a pre school show, which was my first job in storyboarding. 

It was a very challenging show to work on with my limited experience, but the coolest job I've done so far. I would love to get back onto an action show now that I am more comfortable in my role.

 

Storyboard Pro - Brush - Chisel TIP

 For some weird reason I was experimenting a bit today with the brushes in Storyboard Pro, and found this really nice sketchy brush : Chisel Tip. It comes standard with the package, but it has some transparency and just feels really smooth.

It's a really great course! very simple and well explained!

Terribly copied from my end but for me it's the best ay to process information.
Some people just watch a video, but at least for me that doesn't stick. Best way is to watch it multiple times, draw along, draw it from memory, apply it to reference, and come back again next year to repeat it :D

 So I've been storyboarding on It's Pony season 2 for the last year which has been a fun job. Here are some doodles for birthdays, congratulations and other random stuff for fun (not part of work).

STUDY: Pixar boards

 I should really do some of my own stuff again soon :P I've just been spending a lot of time writing and so not doing any drawing.  Except of course for 8 hours on the job and some studies to warm up like these:

Film Study : Cookoo's Nest

So I am way too lazy to do these wide shots :P But who knows, maybe if I stick at it it'll force me to simplify and create some shorthands.  I do like the way the actors were staged here, really guides the eye around yet we know the most important character in the scene is the one looking towards us.
