Game of Thrones: Tywin Lannister Sketch

I wanted to make a caricature of Tywin, so I drew a really thin and long shape for his head but in the end it looks more like a portrait : P

I then messed around a bit to really stretch his face:

Some last details:

Game of Thrones: Tyrion Lannister Sketch

Just finished watching Game of thrones season 3. What can I say, I love the characters. Not every moment in the show is great, but the great moments are awesome! I will actually rewatch the series from season 1 again. Can't get enough! :D

Oh yeah, here's Tyrion Lannister played by the wonderful actor : Peter Dinklage.

Midnight Sketch

So why keep a sketchbook?

Well, because it makes your creative work more reality grounded! Even though this quick portrait might seem unrealistic, it is based of a sketch I did of a waiter. He had quite a unique chin really tucked in to the lower part of his face. It seemed especially small because he had a large forehead contrasting it.

You can see my sketchbook sketches on my other blog: The Daily Sketchbook

Here is the sketch inspired by one of the drawings:

Layouts : Part 3

This is a very small sequence so not much work on it. Really enjoyed drawing these last bedroom shots. Makes me want to go back and touch up the first ones I did now. But onto the final character design and start the lipsynching!

Sometimes getting better is just about milage, so no need to get hung up on details. When it comes to animation I have too much to learn to do that : P

Definitely not done with that last shot. But I'll see how it looks like the animation. There might not be a need to get more work done on it.

Layouts : Part 2

It looks like I'll be able to finish with all of these by tomorrow, then I can fine tune the character design and start animating this thing!

This will be a quick project, so no time for me to overwork it, even though I hate lots about these. Learning to to just get over yourself and get the job done! :D

Flash Game : Cutscene Exploration

I'm working on cutscenes for a flash game. The voices already have been recorded and the storyboard was given to me, but I was given complete liberty in developing an artstyle. This is still kind of rough, but I wanted to test if I could get that childrens' book feel in the animation. The characters will be relatively simple, but I want those painterly backgrounds to give it warmth and texture.

Just to try things out I also tried something very different:
